TX Schools Are Haunted

We All Fall Down

We All Fall Down

Washington Post

At 11:33 every morning

blood pools form in the library

and under the tables in the cafeteria.

The custodian's mop smears a red trail

Down the long narrow hallway

Where crayon memorials line the walls.

This door always has a bullet hole

no matter how many times

it’s been repaired.

The story-time carpet where they sat

is now rolled up in the corner.

No one wants to sit in Evie's spot.

But at night

  in the dark

  they play.

The playground monkey bars,

the comfy reading nook,

the recorders in the Music room

       all come to life

  with the sound

         of children’s laughter.
