Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

When I was a kid my mom convinced me to stay up and watch TV with her - as she liked horror movies, but wouldn’t watch them alone. The original Don't Be Afraid of the Dark scared the beejeesus out of little me. To the point that I am still afraid of dolls and small things that might come to life and get me. I'm a sucker that way. But the 2011 remake that’s on Netflix got me all over again. I may have watched it with the hoodie strings pulled tight around my face any time the creatures were out and about.

These things, the ones that come after you in the dark, they're the inspiration for the critters in my work in progress, Daughters of the Grove.
